How did Mythology in Mesopotamia develop over the years?

How was mythology important in early life and how did it develop over the years? For all people that don’t know what mythology is, it is the stories people tell to explain nature, history and customs.

Mythology marked a turning point to the development of Mesopotamia by letting people believe in what people thought were real. People believed in legendary creatures and demons.

Mythology changed the outcome of Mesopotamian society by making people have beliefs of who caused the sickness and who cured it. If there was no mythology, people wouldn’t know what people thought in the past.

People still read myth books to see what other people believed in the past. I think that mythology was really important to the development of Mesopotamia.

The right to fair treatment if you break the law in the Breadwinner

Child Rights on the Breadwinner

The right to have fair treatment if you break the law

The police officers should have a fair punishment if you break the law for any reason. For example you should not get beat up by breaking the law. People should not have to face the death penalty because you break the law.  Unless you do something really wrong.

In the Breadwinner book, Parvana’s dad got taken away because he had education at a country that was not allowed in Pakistan. The Taliban broke into Parvana’s house and beat up Parvana’s father. After, Parvana’s father got dragged away by the Taliban that broke into their house while Parvana and her mother got knocked out.

I don’t think it was right for the Taliban to beat the father up and knock out Parvana and her mother. I feel bad for the father because he really didn’t commit a crime. I don’t think it was fair for the Parvana’s father. I think it was unnecessary for the Taliban to break into Parvana’s house and beat up the father.

How am I connected to the past?

How am I connected to those in the past?

In this project we had to make a timeline consisting world and personal events. We had to include 2 world and personal events before and after your birth. Beside our events we had to draw a picture that matches the event.

Mine timeline is from 1989 to 2016. We also had to space the years out equally.

I included my parents marring after coming over to Canada from Japan. It affected me because I wouldn’t been born if they didn’t come to Canada. I am happy to be born in Canada.

Another world event I included was the Zika virus outbreak.  It has affected the world to try to find something that can cure the Zika virus. It has spread around the world. It has been a disaster for some countries. Now the world has to be cautious about the disease.

It has been an exciting project to do. I seemed to have more world events than personal ones. I had a lot after 2010. I included the Vancouver Olympics and the Canucks losing the Stanley cup finals. I think we have learned a lot from the past. They now have put a lot of security cameras to decrease the number of incidents that might happen. I hope you liked this and this will be the end of this assignment on how we are connected to the past.

Watching a Baseball Game

It was the first day in Seattle 30 minutes before the baseball game between the Seattle Mariners and the Houston Astros. My heart was pounding because of excitement. I was standing a few meters away from the gate we were going through. It felt like it was a dream. There were so many fans with different coloured shirts that it was like a flower garden. I couldn’t believe that I was standing just outside of a Major League Baseball stadium. The good thing was that the stadium opened 2 hours early.

I was waiting for the gates to open when the people started moving forward. That’s when I figured out the gates were opening. Once we got our bags checked to see if there were any outside foods or drinks, we went to look around the stores. While we were going through the stores, I was amazed of how many people there were at the stadium. We bought hotdogs and a drink. After we bought our food, we went to go find our seats. The baseball field seemed really big. Then the game was on. It was the Houston team versus the Seattle team. My goal was to watch the whole game because I knew how hard it was to watch 3+ hours of a baseball game.

As the game started, I knew it was a start of a great game in Seattle. I got kind of hungry so my parents got some food for me and I was still waiting for a homerun to be hit. After 1 hour, my little brother started to get bored so my dad and little brother went to go look around inside the stadium. I was talking to my mom when finally the Seattle team hit a homerun! It was a great moment seeing the batter circling the bases. But unfortunately, my dad and little brother missed the homerun that was hit. Soon after the score was 2-1 for the Houston team in the 9th inning. When I looked up on the scoreboard it said there was only one out left in the game.

Then the game ended and now my excitement was over. But then I thought well I have another day left in Seattle. It was a great day in Seattle. Well this year I went back to Seattle to watch another baseball game. That day was one of my best days. I really enjoyed it there.

It was really memorable because it was my first ever MLB (Major League Baseball) game. It also was my first time going to the United States.  It was a great experience at Seattle. I wish I can go there many more times.
